Week 10
- This marks the beginning of the “fetal period” when the tissues and organs in her body rapidly grow and mature.
- Your baby is no longer an embryo!
- About an inch in length, crown to bottom, and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce.
- The most critical stage of development is now over.
- Tiny fingernails, toenails, and hair fuzz begin appearing on the body.
- Uterus has grown to approximately the size of a large orange
At your next follow up appointment with your doctor, you should be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat.
