Week 14

Congratulations!  You are starting your second trimester.  At this point, your odds of miscarriage have dropped significantly as most of your baby's major development will be completed.

Your baby is now about 3 ½ inches long – the length of a lemon

It is also producing and discharging urine into the amniotic fluid, a normal process that will continue up until birth.

Thanks to brain impulses, the little facial muscles are getting a workout as it squints, frowns, and grimaces.

The tiny thing can grasp now, too, and may be able to suck its thumb.
