Week 4

Week 4

This week, you should be able to find out if you're pregnant.  If you take a home pregnancy test, you should receive a positive result.  If the result is negative, try again in a few days or see your doctor for a blood test.  If the result is positive – it’s time to schedule your first prenatal appointment with your doctor.

Your baby is now exposed, via the placenta, to what you take into your body, so be conscious of what you take-in.

This is the time when your baby will be the most vulnerable to anything that might interfere with its development.

Also present now is the amniotic sac that will house your baby, the amniotic fluid that will cushion her as he or she grows, and the yolk sac that produces your baby's red blood cells and helps deliver nutrients to him or her until the placenta is ready to take over this duty.
