Toddler Language Decoded
Benjamin talks a lot. But, for the most part, no one knows what he’s saying - except his parents.
My husband and I have been able to translate some of our son’s toddler language into English. Some words were very simple to decode, while others required days of guess work!
Here are some words that can be found in The Benjamin Dictionary:
Wa Wa – Water
Gigi – Blanket
Deeki – Thank you
Up – Pick up
Doggy – Any furry animal
Ow – No
Ca – Car, train or truck
Poopy – Soiled diaper
Nana – Banana
Tees – Cheese
Appo – Apple
Bubble - Bubble
Baba – Bottle
Ba – Ball
Most words, with a little finger pointing and repeating on Benjamin’s part, are easy to understand. I’m very proud of him for trying out new words. His vocabulary is growing every day!
I’m sure this list will double within the next couple of months and before we know it, Benjamin will be using sentences! I can’t believe how quickly time is flying by. Before we know it, he’ll be reading books all on his own, writing his name and driving our car (I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself though).
