Hide-and-go-Seek – Food Edition
I’ve been finding pieces of food in every nook and cranny lately.I’ll open up the toy chest and, low and behold, a piece of bread will be lodged into the back corner between a doll and a toy car! Or I’ll be changing Benjamin’s diaper and a Cheerio will fall out!
This little game of “hide-and-go-seek, food edition” has been both hilarious and a little gross. It’s gross when I find mouldy pieces of strawberry in the couch cushions but hilarious when I find crackers stuffed into the Playskool Ball Popper (which explains why the balls weren’t popping!)
I guess I should keep a closer eye on Benjamin when he’s playing and snacking at the same time. It’s not that I encourage him to run around with food in his hands and mouth but I don’t think it always makes sense to put him in the high chair every time he wants a piece of cheese!
I know that this is yet another phase that will eventually pass. Although, remembering back to my days of hiding carrots under the kitchen chairs so I didn’t have to eat them makes me realize this phase may last a lot longer than I want it to!
